Building a Brand

Walkers International have been growing strawberries at their properties in Mylor and Woodside for 16 years.

A natural progression to value add to their product and join the fast growing cider market was to produce a strawberry cider.

Utilising the skills of award winning local wine and cider maker Darryl Catlin, Hamilton Walker approached KSD to undertake the naming, branding and packaging of this crafted cider.
After researching and putting forward various brand name options, the obvious choice emerged in the form of Hugo and Hunter, the names of his two sons. It provided a strong family link that related to the history of the company but focused on the next generation in the spirit of the next chapter of production.

An urban, niche and contemporary approach was favoured that appealed to a broad market, encompassed the ‘paddock to plate’ philosophy and linked to the provenance of the source.

More flavour variants are potentially on the horizon which use the fabulous strawberries and other berries grown on the Walkers farm.
